Proskauer has launched its Not-For-Profit/Exempt Organizations Blog

"NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- As the legal and regulatory environment continues to present challenges for non-profit organizations, Proskauer has launched its Not-For-Profit/Exempt Organizations Blog to keep organizations, clients and media abreast of issues and developments impacting the sector - ranging from governance structure to tax planning to asset protection.

Found at http://nonprofitlaw.proskauer.com/ , the blog will harness the collective resources of several Proskauer lawyers specializing in areas that include tax, corporate law, intellectual property, labor law, real estate and personal planning, who will make frequent posts. At issue currently are the far reaching implications of Massachusetts' new data security laws, fees increases on tax exemption applications, and rules governing endowment funds in New York, which have come into focus in the wake of significant charitable endowment losses as a result of investments with Bernard Madoff.

"Proskauer is sought after by some of the nation's leading institutions and organizations - from the Bloomberg Family Foundation to The William J. Clinton Foundation and the YWCA USA - to provide a wide range of services at a time when non-profits are facing greater demands for transparency and accountability than ever before," said Jacob I. Friedman, who heads Proskauer's Not-For-Profit/Exempt Organizations Group and is the immediate past chair of the firm's Tax Department. "Our work with clients of this caliber speaks to why Proskauer is the ideal source for information on the complex issues in this area."

"This blog provides an opportunity to feed non-profit leadership crucial information while facilitating a dialogue about the topics that impact their bottom lines," added A. Nicole Spooner, Editor of the Not-for-Profit/Exempt Organizations blog and a member of the Not-For-Profit/Exempt Organizations Group. "

By adding a comment box and links to authors' contact information, we hope to encourage readers to share feedback, questions and concerns."

This is Proskauer's third blog. It follows the New Media & Technology Law Blog, which covers legal developments related to technology, media and communications, and the Privacy Law Blog, which covers issues pertaining to privacy and data security law and was selected for inclusion in the Library of Congress historic collection of Internet materials.

An industry leader, Proskauer's Not-For-Profit/Exempt Organizations Group represents a wide range of non-profit/tax-exempt clients that also includes: The Broadway League, which is the national trade association for the Broadway industry, acting as general counsel to the League for more than 50 years; Continuum Health Partners, a large university hospital and not-for-profit health services research and philanthropic organization, on various matters including the creation of a hospital system including Beth Israel Medical Center, St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital and Long Island College Hospital; issues before numerous state Attorney General offices; and the corporate restructuring of two large global charitable organizations, among many other key representations.

What do you Folks Think of This? I think it is to Get More Money from the Non-Profit and Foundation Sector. It cannot be with a good motive... I mean let's NEVER forget the Stealing of Inventors Patents and what REALLY goes on behind the Closed Doors of the Proskauer Rose Law Firm. I would be VERY Skeptical about the Real Motives of this New Blog Launch. Affiliations, Connections ... the Name Game, YET ignoring Bar Complaints.. acting above the Law, Frauding the US Patent Office.. No One Cares and Now a NEW blog.. yada yada and WOW it is their 3rd One, they are really getting into this Intellectual Property thing.. next thing you know Kenneth Rubenstein will attempt to Patent Blogs.....
